[ Oh, that sounds like a lot more responsibility than she thought it'd be. ]
Oh, I see.
Sound it sounds like anything made would need to be small, like hors d'oeuvres, and likely ready to go rather than made to order. That shouldn't be difficult, though I don't know a great deal about pairing foods with mixed drinks.
I'd be willing to learn, but I can understand if you'd rather find someone with more experience with that.
It sounds to me as though you already have a decent grasp on the situation. Or at least enough sense to be able to connect the dots. So where you are willing to learn, I am willing to give the opportunity for it. Potentially.
How about you come by the club sometime; we can get a sampling of what you can do and go from there.
Also Persephone--is that a pseudonym? One can never be too sure in a place like Duplicity.
That would likely be for the best, yes. If what you're thinking of preparing can't be rolled out in those sorts of timeslots then things need to be reconceptualized over again, this will be a good way to find out what's feasible.
[It's probably for the best this is text and not video or audio otherwise poor Persephone would witness the utter exasperation Oswald is expressing. God, why can't people just know what he wants them to do automatically! So unreasonable! (No really, it's not her, it's him, he's the impatient jackass boss. Here's hoping you know what you're getting into, Persephone!)]
As we're moving into Fall, I would consider finger foods that would compliment a general autumnal mood and the sorts of drinks patrons may gravitate toward as the seasons change. Initially, I would say three to four different offerings would suffice.
We will also be shifting to a Halloween theme later in the month, so if this pans out I would suggest starting to brainstorm novelty foods around that particular event.
The message sits on read for a few minutes and it's mostly from Oswald making a bit of a stunned face at his device before finally remembering his own words and deciding it's best to not be too surprised: it is Duplicity, after all.]
That is certainly worth knowing. I will certainly keep your offering in mind for the future.
Should you need any guidance on that particular festivity, I have no doubt that Edward would be able to give you a detailed and historically forensic breakdown of what Halloween is about. Otherwise you could always poll the population via the network for their input.

Given the timelimit, I take it would be preferable that I bring some already prepared items?
No, Persephone is my real name. [ At least it is now. ]

And are you named after the Greek Goddess or...?

I am the Greek Goddess of Spring. So if this doesn't work out and you ever need flowers...

[Then, a bit belatedly, a follow-up message.]
... The Greek Goddess in the literal sense?

She was thinking of sticking to finger foods where she could so that works out. ]
I can do that.
I'm not sure what Halloween is, but I'll look into it and try to familiarize myself with it.
Yes. I am quite literally the Goddess of Spring and my mother is Demeter the Goddess of the Harvest and one of the Six Traitors.

[Good luck with that.]

[ Is he prepared for at least one pumpkin spiced item? Because that's an inevitability. ]
It might take me a week to get everything in order if that's okay with you.
[ Or two given how busy she's about to be. ]

Considering I wasn't even hiring a chef, yes, it's fine. Best not let Edward's recommendation be in vain.
